If you have an existing Stripe account with active member subscriptions and you want to transfer them to a Heartbeat-managed Stripe business, Heartbeat provides a free payment migration service.
How can I migrate customers to Heartbeat?
To access the migration tool, go to Settings > Revenue > Import Subscriptions and press "+ New Migration".
Platform & Data
The first step is to upload your subscription CSV file. You can obtain this file by going to your current Stripe account, go to Subscriptions and press the "Export" button to generate your file.
Column Mapping
This step allows you to match the fields in your CSV file to the corresponding fields in Heartbeat. Look out for any duplicate entries under "Preview".
Offer Mapping
Here, you'll match your legacy Stripe products to your existing Heartbeat Offers. If you have yet to create an Offer, please check this guide.
Customer Copy
Then, you'll be able to transfer over customer payment data from your existing Stripe account to Heartbeat. You can opt to only copy existing subscriptions or your entire customer base.
How can I copy only select existing customers to Heartbeat?
If you have a lot of existing customers that you don't want to copy over, you can either:
- manually select each customer from your list
- export your customer list so you can edit it until a curated file that you can then use on this step

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my members be charged when I import them?
No. Each member's first charge through Heartbeat lands on their next billing date from your CSV, at the amount in the CSV. Once the import is done, cancel their subscriptions on your old platform before their next renewal. The migration page gives you a Cancelation Kit with the exact list.
Can I create the subscriptions in Stripe myself?
No. Heartbeat doesn't pick up subscriptions created directly in Stripe, so they wouldn't be linked to the member or the Offer. The importer creates each subscription for you, already linked to both.
What if my members' cards are held by another platform, like Kajabi Payments?
Then the card data has to be moved into your Heartbeat-connected Stripe account first. Submit a data migration request to Stripe from that account and ask your old platform to send the card data. The old platform can take days to weeks, and Stripe then typically imports within about 10 business days. If your old platform charged members through your own Stripe account, you don't need this, because the Customer Copy step copies them over.
Why does a customer show as unmatched at the Customer Copy step?
Usually their email is different in your CSV and in Stripe, and capital letters count. Fix the email in Stripe and click Check for Customers again rather than skipping them, since skipped members are left out of the migration.
