You can credit an affiliate with a member who didn't join through their link, for example someone who joined before the affiliate shared it, or who forgot to use it. Members who join through an affiliate's link are credited automatically, as How can I create an Affiliate Program explains.
Adding a referral
- Go to Settings > Revenue > Affiliates.
- In the Affiliates table, click the number under Conv. next to the affiliate. The number under Leads works too, once they have at least one lead.
- Under Add Referral, choose the member. If the affiliate is in more than one campaign, choose the campaign too.
- Click Add.
The affiliate is then credited for the member's purchases of the campaign's Offers made in their first 60 days in your community, including purchases they've already made. New commissions can take up to 6 hours to show.
Members who joined more than 60 days ago
Heartbeat asks Override Attribution Window? before adding them. Click Override to credit the affiliate with the purchases the member has already made. Purchases they make after that aren't credited.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't the member in the list? A member can only be credited to one affiliate, so members who are already someone's referral don't appear. Remove them from that affiliate first. Deactivated members don't appear either.
How do I remove a referral? Open the same list, click the × next to the member, then Remove. Their unpaid commissions are removed, and commissions already paid out aren't affected.
