How to cancel your platform subscription

  • Updated

What subscription are you cancelling?

Your Heartbeat plan – you own or admin a community and pay Heartbeat monthly or annually. Follow the steps below.
A membership in someone else's community – you pay a community owner to be a member there. That's a different subscription, cancelled from your own member billing page. See How members can update credit card and payment methods, or contact that community's admin.

Billing is a desktop-only setting. You won't find it in the iOS or Android app, so open Heartbeat in a browser on a computer. See Heartbeat desktop vs. mobile app features for the full list of desktop-only settings.

How to: Settings > System > Billing

  1. Open Heartbeat in a desktop browser and go to Settings > System > Billing.
  2. Click Cancel.
  3. Confirm the cancellation.

Before you cancel

What happens after you cancel

Your community data is retained for 90 days after cancellation. After 90 days, your community and all its content are permanently deleted.

If you're cancelling within your first 30 days, you may be eligible for a refund – see the Heartbeat Refund Policy.

FAQ

Where do I change my billing details rather than cancel? Go to Settings > System > Billing and click Manage Billing to open your Stripe billing portal, where you can update your card and view invoices. See How to find invoices and download receipts.

Does cancelling delete my community? No. Cancelling stops billing; the community is deleted automatically after the 90-day retention period. To delete it sooner, see How can I delete my account or community?

I cancelled by mistake. Can I restart my community and keep my previous setup and data? Yes, as long as you're inside the 90-day window – resubscribe from Settings > System > Billing. Note that resubscribing doesn't create a new 30-day refund window
