Your free trial lasts 14 days from the moment you create your community, and it doesn't take any payment details. When it ends, your community closes until an admin chooses a plan.
See how long your trial has left
In Heartbeat on a computer, admins see the days left at the top of the left sidebar, for example 5 days left in your free trial. The trial ends exactly 14 days after you created the community. To choose a plan before then, click Upgrade there, or go to Settings > System > Billing.
Choose a plan when the trial ends
When the trial ends, admins who open the community on a computer see Your free trial has expired and the Build, Grow and Scale plans.
- Click Choose Build, Choose Grow or Choose Scale.
- Enter your card on the Stripe payment page that opens.
Your community reopens for everyone as soon as the payment goes through.
Who can get in after the trial ends
- Admins can still log in, and they see the plan page.
- Everyone else, paying members included, sees This community has been deactivated on the web and in the app, within a few hours of the trial ending.
- Nobody new can join. Sign Up Links and invites, including invites to become an admin, show This offer is no longer available.
If you don't want to continue
You don't need to do anything, and nothing is charged, because the trial never took payment details. To remove your community for good, delete it with Delete Community on the plan page. This can't be undone. If you already chose a plan, cancel your Heartbeat plan instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can someone else pay for the plan? Yes. Either make them an admin before your trial ends, since only admins see the plan page and nobody new can join afterwards, or send them the payment page: click a plan's Choose button, copy the address of the Stripe payment page that opens and send it to them. They can pay from any device, and the link works for 24 hours.
Can I choose a plan from my phone? Not in the iOS or Android app, because billing is a desktop-only setting. Open Heartbeat in a browser on a computer.
