Can you make a pay what you can product in Heartbeat?
Updated over a year ago

When creating a product, there isn't a pay what you can option. However, you can work around this by creating a tiered product with multiple price points. Learn how to create a tiered product here.

Create your tiered product

Go to Settings > Monetization > Products and select Create Product. Select whether you'd like this product to act as a paywall to your community (require re-subscription) or as a premium offering (remove from group). Then, toggle ON Multiple Tiers and toggle OFF Show Upsells.

Create a tier for each level of payment you'd like members to have access to. In this example, we chose a $5/month, $10/month, and $15/month tier.

Next, set your pricing for each tier and add any additional payment options you'd like (yearly pricing, free trials, etc.)

Name your parent group (the overall product name) and click create.

Create an invitation link

Next, create an invitation link to your parent group for the product. This is the link you will share with people when you invite members into your community. The parent group is also what you will use to give access to content in the community.

Your signup page will include each tier you created for your membership, with members choosing what to pay based on the tier they choose.

If you have any questions setting up your pay what you can model, reach out to our support team (support@heartbeat.chat) or reach out to other community admins in The Hearth, our customer community.
