πŸ”’ Monitor engagement with hidden groups
πŸ”’ Monitor engagement with hidden groups
Updated over a week ago

Hidden groups are only visible to admins and moderators, which enable you to segment members in your community on the backend in extremely powerful ways.

The best way to use hidden groups is to monitor the health of your membership. To name a few, you can create hidden groups for:

  • πŸ•ΈοΈ Inactive members

  • πŸ”» New members that are slipping away

  • 🀝 Last week's engaged members

  • πŸ—“οΈ Members that haven't been to any events

Create a hidden group

Create a hidden group by going to Settings > Manage Groups > Create New Group. Give your group a name, description, and color.

Group Membership Settings

Decide how you'd like to assign members to the hidden group. There are 2 options that would work best for hidden groups:

  • πŸ€– Automated: Members will automatically be added (or removed) to the hidden group based on a set of filters you define. We have a number of template filters to help you get started with automated hidden groups, such as Slipping Away and Inactive Members.

  • πŸ›‘οΈ Admin Controlled: Only admins can assign members to the group. This is good if you'd like to have complete control over who is in the group.

Visibility Settings

Finish creating your group by selecting Hidden in the visibility settings. This will mean the group will not be visible to anyone in the community except admins and moderators.
