Conversion Tracking with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Facebook Pixel
Conversion Tracking with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Facebook Pixel
Updated over a year ago

The conversion tracking feature in Heartbeat allows you to embed Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or Google Tag Manager into your Heartbeat community. By doing so, you can track the effectiveness of ads you are running for your Heartbeat community.

This feature enables Heartbeat to send a ping back to Google or Facebook, closing the loop when someone clicks on an ad that directs them to your Heartbeat community.

Conversion tracking is available to communities on Growth or Business plans.

Visit our pricing page or go to Settings > Billing in your community to learn more about other plans for your community.

Getting Started

To set up conversion tracking, please follow these steps:

  1. Obtain your tracking ID: Before you begin, you need to retrieve your tracking ID from your respective analytics or tag management platform. Here are some instructions to find your tracking ID for each platform:

  2. Insert your tracking ID into Heartbeat: Once you have obtained your tracking ID, log in to your Heartbeat administrator account and navigate to Settings > Conversion Tracking. Within the Conversion Tracking settings, you will see a field where you can insert your tracking ID. Paste your tracking ID into the respective field for the platform you are using (Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or Google Tag Manager).

  3. Save your changes: After entering your tracking ID, save the changes to apply the conversion tracking configuration to your Heartbeat community.

Tracked Events

The following events are sent when conversion tracking is enabled:

  1. Page Visit: When someone visits a page through a paid invitation link, a page visit event is sent.

  2. Lead: After someone enters their email address, a lead event is sent to track the initiation of potential leads.

  3. Initiate Checkout: When someone chooses a plan, an initiate checkout event is sent to track their progress in the purchasing process.

  4. Purchase: Upon the completion of a purchase, a purchase event is sent with attributes including the "value" and "currency" of the purchase.
