To add community embeds
Creating a new course: Go to the Courses tab in the left sidebar of your community. (If you don't see the courses tab, go to Settings > Community Sidebar and make sure the Courses feature is toggled ON). Once on the Courses tab, click the Create New Course button. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the creation page until you see Community Embeds. Select a template or click + Add Card to create your own custom card.
Adding them to an existing course: Go to the Courses tab in the left sidebar of your community and select the course you'd like to add community embeds to. On the course overview page, select Edit Course Info. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the creation page until you see Community Embeds. Select a template or click + Add Card to create your own custom card.
1. Add a discussion channel or post embed
Craft where discussion about a course or individual lesson happens by adding a discussion embed. You can choose between adding an individual post or an entire channel to this embed.
To add a post: Go to the post in the community you'd like to add. Click Permalink in the β’β’β’ menu on the post. This will copy the share link for the post. Then, go to the Community Embeds section when creating or editing your course and select the Discussion template. Lastly, paste your permalink in the input box.
To add a channel: Select the Discussion template in the Community Embeds section of creating or editing your course. Then, select a channel from the dropdown menu.
2. Add a recurring or one-time event embed
Select a one-time or recurring event to embed on the course overview page. To add this embed, you need to create the event first.
If you choose a recurring event, Heartbeat will automatically show members of your course the next instance of the event on the embed card.
3. Add instructor profiles with DM buttons
Choose any number of members to display in this embed. You may choose to enable DMs, allowing students to message these members directly from the course. You may also choose to display this on every lesson in addition to the course overview page.
If using the Instructors template, you can edit the title and description of the embed after it is created.
4. Add automated matchups for course members
Link your existing automated matchups to the course. This will help increase opt-in engagement from your course members.
